The star has handed over the complete sum of his £25k award cash to the MVT, which functions to preserve the Britain's independent live music spots.
The star was presented with the cheque on October 16 as his latest record his work was chosen as the top album of the previous year.
The musician has opted to donate the funds to the trust, in appreciation of the essential function local spots fulfilled in his beginning days.
"As an artist couldn't be pursuing this success if it weren't for all the performances I played around the region, and beyond, when I was just getting going," stated the artist. "These locations are renowned, but they are in difficulty."
From early 2023 onward, at least 150 of these venues have shut down – roughly one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, major artists such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its efforts to help venues survive, by including a small levy to their admission fees, which goes to help independent venues.
Sam Fender also took part, raising more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist numerous grassroots venues across the UK.
These funds helped spaces that were confronting imminent closure due to difficulties arising from water damage, fires and personal losses, as well as permit problems, court cases and neighbor objections.
Other venues received financial assistance in improving infrastructure and gear that directly benefitted performers and concertgoers.
"The idea that revenue from concerts in large arenas backs the smaller venues, where it kicks off for artists like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has stated.
The musician is far from the only musician to give his honor prize money to good deeds.
When they received the award in the year 1996 for their record the album, lead singer Cocker stated that the act would donate their cash to the charity the charity.
During 2002, artist she divided her prize among several charities, such as the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I contributed a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked better apparatus," the artist explained to the media.
Previously, they contributed their prize money to the local youth club that developed their act, alongside other independent music bodies.
Additionally the 1994 recipients M People donated their prize to a charity for MS after a close contact was found to have the condition.
"Winning was sufficient," stated singer Small. "The money was the extra but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our victory touched somebody else's life."
Last week, the MVT announced it had rescued several grassroots venues in the South East, by bringing them into community ownership.
The first in Southampton and The Croft in that location were bought under the community ownership program, which is funded by a national body and music fans who purchase "shares" in the buildings.
